The cabins are secluded and quiet, and the property is wooded. It is located on Northport Bay on Lake Michigan and a beach. Nearby recreation includes swimming, golf, hiking, and bicycling. Lake Michigan state parks are within 10 miles, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park is 25 miles away.

The Bay is approximately 12 by 30 miles in size, with a maximum water depth of 600 feet. Fish include trout, whitefish, coho, and bass; charters and guide service is available nearby. Bayshore Cabins is within the village limits. It's only a quiet 1-mile walk to restaurants, shops, grocery, pharmacy, and library. In the Village of Northport there is a fitness center, an indoor pool, a walk-in medical clinic as well as various shops and restaurants. Bayshore Cabins has 6 cabins, accommodating from 4 to 6 people per unit. The cabins have kitchens with pots and pans, and dishes. Guests provide their own towels and linens. Additional fee for request of linens.

Pets and smoking are not permitted. The resort is partially accessible to handicapped persons (not bathrooms).
